Then this short DELTA Module One preparation course is for you!

DELTA Module One Exam Primer Course Information

This course is intended for experienced teachers of English to speakers of other languages  who wish to take the Cambridge DELTA Module One examination in June 2022. Participants should normally have at least two years of previous classroom teaching experience and a CEFR C2 level in English.

Participants for this course should already have a solid background in language awareness and methodology to benefit from this course, which focuses primarily on exam techniques and strategies. For those wishing to cover the DELTA syllabus in detail before focusing on exam preparation, a longer Module One course is also available; you can see details here.

The course runs from March 1st to May 26th. There are two online sessions a week, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (EET), with a two-week break in mid-April. All input sessions, as well as individual tutorials (see below) are held on Zoom.

In addition to the contact hours, you should expect to need at least five more hours of private study per week.

The total duration of the course is, therefore, 40 contact hours; in addition, there are three mock exams which you take in your own time and three one-hour one-to-one tutorial sessions with one of the tutors, who will give you extensive feedback on your performance in the mock exam.

The first part of the course revises key issues in  language awareness (grammar, lexis, phonology, discourse), teaching and learning (language acquisition, approaches and methods, teaching the language systems, developing language skills), assessment and testing.

The second half of the course focuses on the DELTA examination to help you develop appropriate exam techniques; to this end, we use five specially designed exam practice papers and ask you to complete three mock exams. One-to-one tutorial sessions based on your performance in the mock exams are included.

To apply for this course, you will first need to complete the online application form here. One of the course tutors will then email you to arrange a pre-interview diagnostic test and an online interview.

The diagnostic test aims to identify your main strengths and weaknesses in relation to the Module One exam, so that we can make sure the course content is responsive to your needs. The interview will take approximately half an hour and will give you the opportunity to find out more about the course and the exam.

Please note we can only accept candidates who already have a solid language awareness and methodology background on this course.

The tuition fee for this course is €350.

You can pay the fee via e-banking, credit/debit card or PayPal. A non-refundable deposit of €150 is payable before the course start date, with the remaining €200 due by April 15th.

Please note that the Cambridge DELTA Module One examination fee is not included. If you wish to sit for the examination at our centre, you will be asked to pay an additional examination fee of €140 in May.
