DELTA Module Three

The DELTA Module Three assessment focuses on designing a specialist course in a specific learning context. Candidates will need to demonstrate that they understand the principles of needs analysis, diagnostic assessment, syllabus design, course planning and course assessment. They will also need to demonstrate understanding of the key issues involved in their chosen area of specialism. Our Module Three course will not only provide the required background knowledge, but it will also support and guide you in the process of drafting and redrafting your assignmen

Participants

If This course is intended for experienced teachers who wish to prepare for the Cambridge DELTA Module 3 assessment, offered in June and December each year.

Participants may already have DELTA Module One and/or Two or they could be starting their DELTA journey with Module Three.

Duration

The course comprises synchronous and asynchronous input, with up to 20 one-to-one tutorials with a tutor and extensive oral and written feedback on each participant’s individual assignment. This is a flexible, one-to-one course: the times and days of your meetings can be negotiated on an on-going basis with your tutor.

You can start the course any time, but please bear in mind it will take at least 3-4 months to do the research and complete your assignment. Module Three courses at ACE TEFL can last for up to 7 months, with a minimum duration of 3 months. The total number of one-to-one tutorials with your tutor, however, cannot exceed 20.

We recommend you start your course in early March or earlier if you are planning on submitting your assignment in June and in early September or earlier if you are thinking of submitting in December.

Course Components

The course aims to guide and support participants working on their DELTA Module Three (Option 1: ELT specialisms) assignment.

Course input takes the form of interactive sessions with your tutor, in which the following areas are covered:
– Principles and practice of your specialism
– Needs analysis
– Assessment and testing
– Syllabus and course design
– Course evaluation
In addition, the course comprises workshop sessions with your tutor, in which you will focus on planning and developing:
– your needs analysis and diagnostic testing tools
– your course plan
– your course materials
– your course evaluation tools
Finally, support with your assignment writing includes:
– reviewing the literature for each assignment section
– outlining and planning each assignment section
– getting detailed feedback on each assignment section
– getting feedback and further suggestions on the whole assignment

Fees

The tuition fee for this course is € 520. Please note this does not include the Cambridge assessment fee for this module, which is currently € 140.

Application Process
