Our trainer training programme is intended for experienced teachers, who manage and are responsible for their colleagues’ continuous professional development and/or are pursuing a career in teacher training. The programme mainly focuses on designing training tasks and sessions, managing training sessions, observing teachers for developmental purposes and providing feedback to teachers.
Participants
Participants should be experienced teachers of English to speakers of other languages who meet the following minimum professional requirements:
– a strong C2 level in English
– a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a range of contexts
– successful completion of at least two modules of the Cambridge DELTA Diploma
– some previous experience of working in a senior teacher / assistant director / director of studies role
Duration and Schedule
This is a part-time course, with live sessions every Saturday afternoon (17:00 – 20:00 EET), running from October 31st 2026 to January 30th 2027, with a two-week break in the holiday season.
Mode
This is a synchronous online course to be run on Zoom. The course comprises 35 contact hours between the participants and the Lead Trainer, including two one-to-one sessions. The design of this course is interactive and it includes lectures, demonstration sessions and workshop tasks.
Tuition fees
The total fee for this course is €720. The fee includes all materials and resources.
Course description
The course is an introduction to teacher training and aims to help experienced teachers design and deliver teacher training sessions and courses, observe other teachers and give supportive feedback and understand how to develop further as a trainer.
The course tutor is George Vassilakis, Director of ACE TEFL, an approved Cambridge CELTA and DELTA Trainer and Assessor with over 30 years of teacher training and trainer training experience.

Assessment and certification
There are two assignments to be completed during the course:
– a training session plan to be submitted by participants
– a short, 20-minute microtraining session to be delivered by participants and observed by the trainer
Successsful participants will be awarded the ACE TEFL Teacher Trainer certificate.
